The George Mason golf team finished tenth in their only home tournament of the fall season at the CHAMP Patriot Intercollegiate. Missouri won the 13-team event held at the 6,857-yard par-71 Laurel Hills Golf Course in Lorton, Va this weekend.
Missouri's Jace Long won medalist honors carding a four-under par 209 for the 54-hole tournament. The Tigers Emilio Cuartero finished tied for second with Villanova's Michael Kania at two-under par. Only four other players were under par on the weekend.
Freshman Mark Folkwein led the Patriots with a three-round 221 (72-75-74). Sophomore Zack Lauzon was seven strokes back with a 228 (77-75-76). Christian Bech led the Mason Gold team with a 226 (78-73-75).
The Patriots next competition is the Big Five on Saturday and Sunday October 13-14 in Philadelphia.
