George Mason freshman Vincent Rodriguez placed sixth at the 2012 Asics University Nationals as a member of the Patriot Elite Wrestling Club. He earned Intermat University National All-American status with the finish.

The Fresno, California native, wrestled in the USA wrestling event in Akron, Ohio in the 63kg/138.75lb class. The placers will wrestle in the University World Team Trials in August where the winner will compete at the University World in October.

He finished his rookie year at Mason with an 18-9 record while wrestling at 125 pounds. He qualified for the National Championships in St. Louis, Missouri with an at large bid. He won the award for Most Outstanding Freshman on the team.
