STATE COLLEGE, Pa. - George Mason's men's golf team is leading after the first round of the 54-hole 36th Annual Rutherford
Intercollegiate.The Patriots Kevin Yerks is the leader after shooting even par on the par-71, 7,202-yard Penn State Blue Course.
The second round was originally scheduled for Saturday, but because of a late start of the first round due to a frost delay the second 18 holes were not completed and will be finished Sunday morning before the final round.
Yerks has a two-stroke lead going into the second round over Brad Boyle from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Mason's senior Josh Apple is currently tied for 12th overall after shooting a 76 today in the first round.
The 14-team field includes host Penn State, Army, Bowling Green,
Connecticut, Canisius, Delaware, Eastern Michigan, IUP,
Miami (Ohio), Rutgers, St. Bonaventure, Towson and William & Mary.
