After posting strong performances in the month of March, junior pole vaulter Mandissa Marshall and senior third baseman Brig Tison have been selected as George Mason Athletics' Student-Athletes of the March.

Marshall started the outdoor track season strong, breaking the school record in the pole vault twice. At the Mason Spring Opener on March 17 she recorded a height of 4.12m, shattering the 4.00m mark she set the previous season. She followed that performance with an impressive vault of 4.30m at the W&L/VMI Track Carnival in Lexington, Va one week later. At the time, that height was the second-best mark in the country. For her efforts at both meets, Marshall was named the CAA Female Field Athlete of the Week. She currently ranks sixth in the nation.

Tison has proven to be Mason's most consistent player this season. Starting all 21 games in March, Tison went 33-for-89 (.371) with 13 RBI's, 23 runs scored and six stolen bases. He currently leads the team in batting average (.390), on-base percentage (.453), runs scored (30), hits (48) and stolen bases (10). His 48 hits are also a CAA-best.

Marshall and Tison join other award winners in men's volleyball's Piotr Dabrowski and women's swimming's Ashley Danner (February), men's diving's Derrick Butts and women's basketball's Amber Easter (January), men's basketball's Ryan Pearson and women's basketball's Taleia Moton (November), Butts and women's soccer's Tiana Kallenberger (October) along with women's volleyball's Kelsey Bohman and men's soccer's Taylor Morgan (September).
