The George Mason men's tennis team won their fifth consecutive match after defeating Longwood University, 4-3, in Fairfax on Saturday. The Patriots improve to 12-5 on the season.
Longwood grabbed the doubles point after winning the No. 1 and No. 2 doubles matches. Mason won the No. 3 doubles as Christopher Borden and Taylor Sargent won 8-4.
Three of the singles matches went to the tiebreaker set with the Patriots winning all three. Jordan Dyke defeated G. Khmiadashuili after dropping the first set 4-6. Joseph Wiggins at No. 5 singles also lost the first set, 2-6, before coming back to win the next two sets, 6-1 and 6-4. In the No. 6 singles Mason's Taylor Sargent won 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 against Steed Johnson.
Mason hosts Richmond on Wednesday, April 4.
