RICHMOND, Va. - George Mason track & field senior Lavell Handy was named the CAA Track Athlete of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Tuesday afternoon.

Handy was joined by Northeastern's Patrick Jablonski, who was tabbed as the CAA Men's Field Athlete of the Week.

Competing at the Patriot Open Invitational on Saturday, Handy finished the meet with IC4A qualifying marks in both the long jump and 100m dash.

Handy won the long jump with a distance of 7.64m, besting his previous top season mark of 7.45m. His leap is currently the top mark in the CAA and 15th-best in the nation.

Posting a preliminary time of 10.84 in the 100m dash, Handy qualified for the IC4A Championships this spring in addition to posting the fifth-fastest time in the CAA this season.

Mason returns to action this weekend, competing at three separate meets.
