HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. – The
Patriots dropped the third game of the series against Hofstra on Sunday by a
score of 8-0 in five innings.
Hofstra's Olivia Galata pitched a complete game no hitter
against the Patriots and also hit third in the Pride lineup, going 2-2 with a double,
3 RBI's and a run scored. On the mound
she struck out seven and walked zero in her five inning complete game. This was the second no hitter of the season
for Galata.
Freshman Mary O'Connor was the only Patriot to reach base on
Sunday after advancing to first on a passed ball after a strikeout swinging.
Mason will look to move on from a tough series against
Hofstra with a midweek doubleheader with ACC for Virginia. The first game against the Cavaliers is
scheduled to begin at 4pm in Charlottesville, Virginia.
