RICHMOND, Va. (April 11, 2012)--George Mason's Kevin Yerks and Old Dominion's
Garth McGee earned CAA Men's Golfer of
the Week honors after a pair of strong outings last week.
Yerks
finished tied for second place at the 7,202-yard, 71 par Penn State
Blue Course during the Rutherford Intercollegiate. The junior was the
clubhouse leader after shooting even par for the first round and
finished the tournament carding 71-74-77--222 (+9). Yerks guided the
Patriots to an eighth place team finish.
McGee carded 68-70-69—207 (-3) to place tied for 14th
at the Wyoming Cowboy Classic. The event was held at the 7,133-yard, 70
par Talking Stick-North Course in Scottsdale, Ariz. The junior
finished nine strokes behind champion Benn Juffer of Kansas State (198,
-12) and tied with San Diego's Alex Chingy and Kansas' Dylan McClure.
McGee led the Monarchs to a ninth place team finish.
