Mason Nation got some great news today as senior Mendbagana Tovuujav and freshman Vincent Rodriguez were selected to compete in the NCAA Division I Wrestling National Championships in St. Louis, Missouri from Thursday, March 15th - Saturday, March 17th.

Tovuujav, now 20-3 on the season, earned a bid to Nationals by winning the CAA Chammpionship in the 197 pound weight class.  He has been a dominant force in the conference throughout the season and will now prepare move on to Nationals for the second time in his Mason career.  Tovuujav is slated to wrestle Matthew Wilps, the number 3 seed in the 197 pound weight class from University of Pittsburgh, in the first round.

For Rodriguez, the conclusion of a very successful freshman season ended with a second place finish in the CAA Tournament and an at large bid to compete in the NCAA tournament.  Rodriguez, who wrestles at 125 pounds, finished the season with an 18-9 record and some impressive victories over other NCAA qualifiers.  The freshman will wrestle Trent Sprenkle, a North Dakota State product who has accumulated a record of 30-10 this season.
