ORLANDO, Fla. -- The Mason golf team completed the first two rounds today of the UCF Rio Pinar Invitational, and the Patriots team posted a two-round total of 617. Florida Gulf Coast (-13) leads by just three strokes ahead of host UCF and Wichita State, as they are the only three schools to shoot under par.

Kevin Yerks and Josh Apple each carded a two-round nine-over par 153 to lead the Mason golfers. Casey Thompson was two stroke behind with a 77-78=155. Alec Kormanec rounded out the scoring for Mason with a 78 in each of the two rounds.

The tournament will conclude with the third and final round Tuesday. Play at Rio Pinar begins at 8:30 a.m.
