RICHMOND, Va. - For her performances this past week, George
Mason lacrosse senior midfielder Emily Ellisen was named the Colonial Athletic
Association Lacrosse Player of the Week for the week ending March 18.
The Paoli, Pa. native led Mason offensively in its 1-1 week
posting six goals, four assists, five draw controls, two ground balls and two
caused turnovers. Ellisen finished the week with a team-best 10 points and put
10 of 13 shots on goal.
In Mason's commanding 20-9 win at Liberty, the senior scored
four goals to go along with two assists helping lead the Patriots to victory in
their first road contest of the season. She also picked up three draw controls,
two caused turnovers and one ground ball. It marked the second time this season
the senior scored four times in a game with the first coming in the
season-opener against Saint Francis.
To close out the week at High Point, Ellisen finished with
four points on two goals and two assists, while also collecting two draw
controls and one caused turnover.
The senior leads Mason on the season with a team-best 15
goals and 32 draw controls. She also boasts five assists, nine caused turnovers
and nine ground balls.
Mason returns to action continuing this four-game road swing
at American on Wednesday, March 21 for a 4 p.m. opening draw.
