AUBURN, Ala. - After
finishing 32nd overall in the 200-yard individual medley on day one of the
National Championships on the campus of Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama, standout Ashley Danner placed second overall in 100-yard
breaststroke, with a time of 59.02 seconds.
The time was a personal best in Danner's career and also
ranks as the 10th fastest American in the event.
Danner has not finished leaving her mark at the
National Championships this year; the senior will compete in 200-yard
breaststroke on Saturday, the final day of competition. Danner is seeded 13th overall in the 200-yard
breastroke, ironically, the same seed she held in the 100-yard breastroke
before racing to her record setting time.
