Both the men and women saw great success a season ago, as
the men's team captured the CAA outdoor title while the women finished in
second place. The men also had an impressive showing at the IC4A championships,
finishing in second place behind Duke.
For their success, Handy was named the CAA Male Track
Athlete of the Year, while head coach Andrew Gerard was voted the CAA Coach of
the Year for the second-consecutive season. Both the men and women also had a
large group of athletes earn All-CAA honors for top performances in their
respective events.
Additionally, eight individuals competed for national titles
at the NCAA Outdoor Championships. Lavell Handy
and David Verburg
competed in the men's triple jump and men's 400-meters, respectively, while Mandissa Marshall competed in the women's pole vault. Also
competing were the men's 4X100 and 4X400 relay teams. The 4X100 relay team was
comprised of Ja-Vell Bullard, Rachaunn
Ruffin, Adrian Vaughn
and Nick Vaughn

and Verburg. Handy was named Second Team All-America in the triple jump after
finishing 12th in the triple jump, while Marshall (pole vault),

All-America accolades.
