MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - George Mason University
men's golf posted a 302 (+18) in Sunday's opening round of the
second-annual Bash at the Beach Tournament. That currently has the Patriots in 8th place out of 15 teams, just four strokes behind CAA foe William and Mary heading into round two tomorrow of the 54-hole event at The Surf Golf and Beach Club.
Mason's senior Josh Apple carded a one-under 71 today to stand tied for sixth place overall at the par 72, 6,817 yard course. Kevin Yerks shot a three-over par 75 and is tied for 31st. Rounding out the scoring for the Patriots were Zack Lauzon and Alec Kormanec each carding a 78.
Gardner-Webb and Xavier stand atop the leaderboard, tied at 288 (E).
GWU's Daniel Kim and Campbell's Vaita Guillaume tied for the individual
lead at 69 (-3).
Monday's second round tees off at 9 a.m. before the event concludes on Tuesday.
