Track and Field Hosts Last Chance Meet

Handy Competes at Final Day of NCAA Indoor Championships

NAMPA, Idaho - Senior Lavell Handy wrapped up competition for the George Mason men's track & field team on Saturday evening at the NCAA Indoor Championships in Nampa, Idaho. 

Handy competed in the triple jump, finishing with the 11th-best distance. During preliminaries Handy jumped 15.61m in his first attempt, his best jump of the evening. In his second and third attempts he went 15.47m and 15.31m, respectively. His distance left him two spots shy of the finals, as only the top nine competitors advanced to the final round.

Florida's Omar Craddock won the event with a distance of 16.75m.

The Patriots have now completed their indoor season. The 2012 outdoor seaspn begins on Saturday as the team hosts the Mason Spring Opener.
