The Mason men's tennis team dropped its second match this weekend to CAA foe William and Mary on Sunday afternoon at the McCormack-Nagelsen Tennis Center in Williamsburg. The Patriot fells to 5-2 and W&M moved to 8-9 on the year.
Mason's No. 1 doubles team of Jordan Dyke and Jimmy Davis won their match against the Tribe's team of Banks/Orre, 8-5, but the Tribe tallied doubles wins at the No. 2 and No. 3 slot to claim the initial point of the match. The Patriots Scott Keaton and Joseph Wiggins lost 8-1 at the against Guthrie and Hoogland at No 2 doubles. The Tribe clinched the doubles point as Jacob Braig and Will Juggins defeated Mason's Chris Borden and Taylor Sargent, 8-3, at the No. 3 slot.
The Patriots Jordan Dyke triumphed at the top singles spot in a three-set match against the Tribes Anton Andersson, 6-4, 5-7, 13-11. The No. 2 match between Mason's Jimmy Davis and Adrian Vodislav also went to the super tie-breaker third set, but with the Tribe earning the point with a 6-3, 1-6, 10-7 decision. The Tribe earned their final four poinst winning the bottom four singles posts to secure the win.
