FAIRFAX, Va. - The George Mason track & field team hosted the
Patriot Last Chance meet on Sunday, and qualified nine more athletes for
next weekend's IC4A/ECAC Indoor Championships.
The lone ECAC qualifying time for the women was TaNay Chandler, who finished the 60m dash in 7.64, good for second place.
Additional
highlights for the women included Katea Jemmott winning the long jump
(5.37m) and Dominique Graham finishing tops in the high jump (1.65m).
For
the men, seven individuals posted IC4A qualifying marks, including two
from Lavell Handy, who placed second in the triple jump with a distance
of 15.83m in addition to posting a time of 6.92 in the 60m
dash during prelims.
Also qualifying were Patrick Dietrick in the
pole vault (4.80m, 2nd), Dwight Webley in the long jump (7.04m, 1st),
Everett Hackett in the 1 mile run (4:13.02, 1st), Alex Zyryanov in the 1
mile run (4:14.42), Parker Boudreau in the 1000m run (2:26.87, 1st) and
Anthony Williams in the 60m hurdles (8.07, 3rd).
Both teams
return to action next weekend with those that have qualified traveling
to compete at the IC4A/ECAC Indoor Championships in Boston.
