Montclair, Va.--The George Mason women's tennis team played their second consecutive
match at Montclair Country Club Saturday hosting St. Francis (Pa.). The
Patriots proved to be too much for the much improved Red Flash, defeating
them 6-1.
The Patriots got a veteran presence back in their line-up with Brooke Blackwell and Alison Wingo returning to action. They teamed together for an 8-3 doubles win and also won their respective singles matches.
Kiersten Pappas is also getting back into form after playing in the past two matches. The junior is coming off surgery over the summer and is trying to get back into her regular role at the top of the Mason line-up.
Mason is also still receiving strong play from its underclassmen as sophomore Kate Desiatnikova won in the No. 6 position, while freshmen Tori Zalewski and Sara Novakovic combined for a doubles win, along with a singles win for Zalewski at the No. 5 position.
Mason is back at Montclair next weekend as they play Virginia
State on Friday and Morgan State on Saturday before playing at Mary
Washington on Sunday.
