The Mason men's tennis team opened their spring season in convincing
fashion with a 7-0 win against visiting Randolph Macon. The match was
played indoors at Montclair Country Club.
The Patriots lost only four games in five singles matches,
including Jimmy Davis and Chris Borden's 6-0, 6-0 shutouts of their
opponents. Patrick Mulquin and Nick Barker each won their match, 6-1,
6-0. In the top singles position, Jordan Dyke defeated Mederick Ceril
after losing the first set 4-6, he bounced back and won 6-1 in the
second set and won the tie-breaker 10-5.
Mason also took all three of the doubles matches for the point.Mulquin
and Barker blanked the Hornets team of Donnelly and Cox, 8-0.
