George Mason Recognizes Fourth Annual Provost Scholar Athlete Award Recipients

On Wednesday, February 8, 16 George Mason student-athletes were recognized at the men's basketball game for their outstanding academic achievements. George Mason Provost, Dr. Peter Stearns, who created the Provost Scholar Athlete Award in 2009, was on site to congratulate the student-athletes who received the award. In its fourth year, the award recognizes student-athletes who have earned at least 38 credit hours at Mason and have achieved a cumulative grade point average of 3.75 or better.


Listed below are the Fourth Annual Provost Scholar Athlete Award recipients:

Joshua Apple - Golf - Three-time Provost Scholar Athlete
Madison Beumer - Rowing - Two-time Provost Scholar Athlete
Christopher Borden - Men's Tennis
Shelby Cohen - Lacrosse- Two-time Provost Scholar Athlete
Zachary Hegelson - Baseball
Lyndse Hokason - Women's Soccer
Paige Impink - Women's Swimming & Diving
David Lucas - Men's Volleyball
Neena Maizels - Women's Swimming & Diving
Patrick Maloney - Men's Volleyball
Andrew McGreal - Men's Track & Field
Joy Oberlin - Lacrosse - Three-time Provost Scholar Athlete
Javier Perez Navarrete - Men's Volleyball- Two-time Provost Scholar Athlete
Rochell Sceats - Women's Track & Field - Two-time Provost Scholar Athlete
Samantha Scruggs - Lacrosse
