FAIRFAX, Va. - This out of the pool features senior Cole Jamison, a native of Sterling, Va. Jamison competes in the 100 Back and 100 and 200 Fly for the Patriots. At the AT&T Winter National Championships this past weekend, Jamison posted a time of 51.24 in the 100 Fly.

GoMason.com: Why did you choose George Mason University?

Jamison: It was a good school, I liked the campus and I really enjoyed my recruiting trip here.  I liked the culture of the team and felt like it was a place I fit in really well.

GoMason.com: How did you get into swimming?

Jamison: When we moved to Virginia, my parents signed me and my sister up for our neighborhood summer swim team, mostly as a way for us to meet new people and make friends.  I ended up enjoying it and having a lot of success.

GoMason.com: Did you always know you wanted to swim in college?

Jamison: No, when I was little I always wanted to be an MLB pitcher.

GoMason.com: What is your favorite swimming event, and why?

Jamison: 100 fly.  It is an all-out sprint where I can really work my underwater kicks, which is one of my strengths.

GoMason.com: Who would you say you look up to the most?

Jamison: I'd say my Dad and how he has worked hard at everything he's done.  He walked on the UVA football team after never playing football before.  After seeing his passion and how hard he worked, they decided to give him a spot.  I think that's really cool and I respect how much courage and work that took.

GoMason.com: What are your goals for this season?

Jamison: Mostly to swim best times at the conference meet, but I'd also to make 2 A-Finals there and a B-Final in a third event.

GoMason.com: What was your favorite swimming moment from the 2012 London Olympics?

Jamison: Probably the 100 free finals.  Nathan Adrian swam a great and exciting race when not a lot of people thought he could win.

GoMason.com: What would you like to do after college?

Jamison: Get a nice engineering job and start working toward my Professional Engineering license.

GoMason.com: If you could visit any place in the world, where would you go?

Jamison: Las Vegas

GoMason.com: What is something that most people don't know about you?

Jamison: I have two little brothers and we all have different color hair.

GoMason.com: From a swimming stand point, were you team Phelps or Lochte during the Olympics?

Jamison: I like both, but Phelps.

Cole Jamison's Favorites:

Color: Blue

Ice-cream flavor: Chocolate

Quote: Anything worth doing is worth doing 100%.

Academic Class: This semester, I'm enjoying my Construction Systems class.

TV Show: Breaking Bad

Movie: Toy Story

Food: Tacos, or pretty much anything Mexican.
