FAIRFAX, Va. - The
George Mason wrestling team finished fifth Saturday at the Brute Invitational
in Lock Haven, Pa., in their last competition of 2012, with several Patriots
placing in their respective weight classes.
Richard Lavorato and
Jaaziah Bethea placed 6th and 5th in the 125 and 157
weight class, respectively. In the 141 weight class, after dropping his first
match against Frank Cimato of Drexel by an 8-4 decision, Sahid Kargbo went on
to win his next four matches before falling just one match away from the third
place match.
In the 197 weight
class, Matt Meadows placed 3rd after defeating Uratoan Garcia by a
4-3 decision. After winning four of his five matches throughout the day, Jake
Kettler placed third in the 285 weight class.
Zachary Isenhour, Ryan
Hunsberger, Kenton Perez, Seth Robertson and Greg Flournoy all contributed to
the team score with match wins.
The Patriots compete
next when they host the Mason Duals in the RAC on January, 4th.
