FAIRFAX, Va. - This week's Rookie Profile features Sahid Kargbo, a native of Alexandria, Va. where he attended Hayfield Secondary High School. At Hayfield,  Kargbo was an all-district, all-region and all-state honoree. He was also a two-time district champion, a three-time Greco Roman state champion and Freestyle state champion. With his win in the Green and Gold Challenges this past Friday, Kargbo is projected to start for the Patriots in the 141 weight class in their season opening duals at Gardner-Webb this weekend.

GoMason.com: Why did you choose George Mason University?

Kargbo: Coach Russell and I want to be part of "the change."

GoMason.com: How did you get into wrestling?

Kargbo: My high school coach said that I should try it out, I did and I loved it.

GoMason.com: Did you always know you wanted to wrestle in college?

Kargbo: I began to pursue wrestling in college at the beginning of my junior year.

GoMason.com: What is your favorite and least favorite thing about living on campus?

Kargbo: My favorite thing about living on campus is the freedom and my least favorite thing is not having my own bathroom.

GoMason.com: What do you think will be the biggest adjustment you will have to make in transitioning to collegiate wrestling?

Kargbo: I think I will be able to adjust pretty smoothly.

GoMason.com: What is your favorite thing about Mason, so far?

Kargbo: The people are all very friendly.

GoMason.com: What has been the biggest difference, so far, between high school and college?

Kargbo: College is all about managing your time unlike high school.

GoMason.com: If you were stranded on a deserted island, what three things would you take with you?

Kargbo: Food, water, and a boat.

GoMason.com: What is your biggest pet peeve?

Kargbo: Complaining

GoMason.com: What do you want to do after college?

Kargbo: I would like to become a coach and a teacher.

GoMason.com: If you could visit any place in the world, where would you go?

Kargbo: Cancun

GoMason.com: What is something that most people don't know about you?

Kargbo: I sing a lot.
