NORFOLK, Va. - The George Mason men's swimming and diving team defeated Towson 199-152 in the CAA POD meet this weekend, while falling to Old Dominion 222-131. The women's team dropped their three duals against Northeastern (254-97), Old Dominion (242-107), and Towson (284-69).
John Schmitz had another strong performance, taking first place in the 1-meter dive with a score of 247.50 and took second in the 3-meter dive with a 262.35 mark.
The Patriots also got first place finishes from Austin Witherow and Fernando Rubio. Witherow won the 200 Backstroke with a time of 1:54.44 and Rubio took first in the 400 IM with a time of 4:02.04. William Clendenin followed Rubio in the 400 IM taking second and a 4:06.68 mark.
Paige Impink with a time of 58.41 took third in the 100 Backstroke, for the women.
Swimming and diving returns to the pool November 15th at home for the Patriot Invitational.
