FAIRFAX, Va. - Following a two-week break, the George Mason rowing team returns to action at the Head of the Occoquan on Saturday. Racing will take place on the Occoquan Reservoir at Sandy Run Regional Park.

Mason will race a total of nine boats in three events on Saturday: three Varsity 8, two Novice 8 and four boats in the Varsity 4.

Mason opens competition with the Varsity 8 at 11:40 a.m. Following the Varsity 8 boats, the Patriots will race in the Novice 8 at 2:20 p.m. and the Varsity 4 closes out competition beginning at 2:40 p.m.

Last season, the Varsity 4 defended its title in the event, while the Varsity 8 added another gold medal for the Patriots winning its event.
