George Mason President Dr. Ángel Cabrera officially kicked off Mason Athletics newest initiative Peak Performance tonight at a ribbon-cutting ceremony at Southside's Dining Hall. Peak Performance is a sports specific dining experience in which meals are planned by Mason's sports dietician, and are specifically tailored to the demands of the elite athlete.

Peak Performance was a collaborative effort with the university's dining service Sodexo. Several key Mason administrators were available tonight to speak on the program, including Deputy AD Kevin McNamee, Sodexo's Resident District Manager Ram Nabar, Associate AD for Student Services Nena Rogers and Sports Dietician Theresa Logan.

Although the new initiative is a sports nutrition component in the George Mason Center for Sports Performance, the entire student body at Mason can take advantage of the program. At this time, the Peak Performance station is available at Southside's Dining daily between 4 pm-9 pm. The daily menu for Peak Performance can be found on GoMason.com under Center for Sports Performance or you can follow on Twitter at #gmupeakperformance.
