BRONX,
N.Y. - The George Mason cross country team concluded its
season today at The ECAC Championships in Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx, N.Y. Bethany Sachtleben
took the title in the university division and Josh Schlickenmeyer took the
coaches division title for the men. The men and women took second place in the
championship division and university division, respectively.
Mason was led by Robert Reynolds in the championship
division, who finished third with a 25:14.7 mark. Everett Hackett followed just
three seconds behind Reynolds in fourth place with a 25:17.1 mark. Reynolds, Hackett,
John Holt (6th, 25:19.5) and Alex Ott (15th, 25:38.5) received
all-east honors for their top-25 finishes.
David Rushing took third behind Schlickenmeyer in
the coaches division with a time of 27:11.4.
Sachtleben received all-east honors for her first
place finish and 18:04.3 mark. Peyton Lowe and Jennifer Nakamura also received
all-east honors for their ninth and 23rd place finishes,
respectively, in the women's university division.
"Today was a fantastic way to cap off an
already stellar season for both teams," reflected
head coach Andrew Gerard. "This weekend
can't help but springboard us into track season but beyond that, helps to
cement our cross country program as one of the up-and-coming teams in the East."
