FAIRFAX,
Va. - The George Mason men's and women's cross country
teams will conclude their season on the road in New York as they compete in the
ECAC Championships, Saturday, November 17th. The race will be held in Van
Cortlandt Park in New York City and is set to begin at 10 a.m.
The Patriot men are coming off a sixth-place finish
in the NCAA Southeast Regional Championships, the highest placing Mason has
ever attained. The Patriot's sixth-place finish also made them the highest
placed CAA team at the event. Robert Reynolds and Everett Hackett received
all-region honors for their performances.
"This will be our last championship race of the
fall and, so far, the guys have had an excellent string of meets so our goal is
to continue that momentum and finish off the season with a bang," commented
head coach Andrew Gerard.
The women finished 24th at the regional
championships and were led by Bethany Sachtleben and Peyton Lowe.
"The ECAC meet is always an exciting race for us and
in the past we have always ran well in this race," stated head coach Sita
Waru-Ewell. "We will look to continue our momentum this season and hopefully
finish the season on a successful note."
