FAIRFAX, Va. - This week's rookie profile features Robert Dooley, a native of Vienna, Va. where he attended James Madison High School. During his time at James Madison High School he was a two-time all-district champion and region champion. He was also runner-up in the 2012 Virginia state championship and fifth in 2011.

GoMason.com: Why did you choose George Mason University?

Dooley: Coach Russell and Coach Owen were big reasons why I chose Mason.  I also wanted to wrestle close to my hometown.

GoMason.com: How did you get into wrestling?

Dooley: My family was helping out a neighbor, who had breast cancer, and one night when we brought dinner over her husband was going to wrestling practice to help coach the youth league and he asked me to come out and try it.

GoMason.com: What is your favorite part about living on campus?

Dooley: I like being close to my friends but I don't like how far away it is from the field house.

GoMason.com: What do you think will be the biggest challenge in transitioning to collegiate wrestling?

Dooley: I think I will need a lot of work all around.

GoMason.com: What is your favorite thing about Mason, so far?

Dooley: Ikes Diner and hanging out with team.

GoMason.com: What has been the biggest difference, so far, between high school and college?

Dooley: The biggest difference is the freedom and that there's less class time.

GoMason.com: If you were stranded on a deserted island, what would you take with you?

Dooley: Food and Xbox

GoMason.com: What is your biggest pet peeve?

Dooley: Excuses  

GoMason.com: What would you like to do after college?

Dooley: After college, I want to work in a national park in southern Utah during the summer and surf in Hawaii in the winter.

GoMason.com: If you could visit any place in the world, where would you go?

Dooley: I would like to visit Australia.

GoMason.com: What is something that most people don't know about you?

Dooley: That I'm interested in nature.
