After opening the season with a second-place finish at the Occoquan Sprints this past weekend, the George Mason varsity 8 boat is set to return to the 48th Head of the Charles Regatta this Saturday. The Patriots will race one boat in the club 8, which is set to begin at 1:35 p.m.

Last season, the Patriots took fourth in the race and will look to medal this season.

The Head of the Charles began in 1965 and has grown to become the world's largest two-day rowing event. Over 8,000 athletes from around the world compete in 55 different race events. The regatta grew to a two-day event in 1997 and attracts up to 300,000 spectators.

The two-day regatta begins at 8 a.m. on Saturday and runs through Sunday. Live results can be found here and complete results will be listed on the official regatta website at www.hocr.org. Please click here for the competitors link.
