FAIRFAX, Va. - This week's rookie profile features Matt Meadows, a native of Medina, Ohio where he attended Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy. He was the 2011 state champion, a two-time state placer and ranked 7th in the nation by Intermat during his time at Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy.

GoMason.com: Why did you choose George Mason University?

Meadows: I loved the school and the coaches are great, so it was a great fit for me.

GoMason.com: How did you get into wrestling?

Meadows: My dad got my brothers and I started in it when I was in the second grade.    

GoMason.com: Did you always know you wanted to wrestle in college?

Meadows: Yes, it has always been a dream of mine since I was young.

GoMason.com: What is your favorite and least favorite thing about living in a dorm?

Meadows: My favorite part is being able to hang out with all my friends and my least favorite

part is sharing a bathroom.

GoMason.com: What do you think will be the biggest challenge in transitioning to college wrestling?

Meadows: I think the biggest challenge will be adjusting to the new level of competition.

GoMason.com: What is your favorite thing about Mason, so far?

Meadows: My favorite part about Mason so far has been being part of the wrestling team and meeting new people.

GoMason.com: What has been the biggest difference, so far, between high school and college?

Meadows: The biggest difference is being on my own and getting used to doing stuff for myself.

GoMason.com: If you were stranded on a deserted island, what three things would you take with you?

Meadows: I would take a raft, food and water.

GoMason.com: What do you want to do after college?

Meadows: I would like to start a company and have a family of my own.

GoMason.com: If you could visit any place in the world, where would you go?

Meadows: I would go to the Bahamas.
