RICHMOND, Va. - Fernando Rubio and John Schmitz of the George Mason swimming and diving team were named co-swimmer of the week and diver of the week, respectively, as announced by the league office today October 17^th. It is the first weekly honor for both of them this season.

In the men's 157-143 win against conference rival Delaware, Rubio led the Patriots with three individual wins in the 1000 Freestyle (9:43.98), 200 Backstroke (2:10.80) and 400 IM (4:03.09).

Schmitz won the 3-meter dive against Delaware with a score of 270.15 and, with a new personal best of 272.25 in the 1-meter dive, placed second just 6.3 points behind the leader.

Rubio, Schmitz and the Patriots return to the pool November 2^nd for the CAA POD meet, which will be held at Old Dominion University.
