The swimming and diving team will back in the friendly
confines of the Aquatic Center on Saturday, January 28th as they
host George Washington University.
Last weekend Mason turned in a variety of very impressive individual
performances while splitting a quad-meet against Army, American and ODU in West
Point, New York. Seniors Ashley Danner
and Derrick Butts were both awarded by the CAA for their work in the meet;
fellow senior Preston Wolter was also a key contributor.
Danner and Wolter both won three individual events last
weekend, while Danner also swam a leg in the 200-yard medley relay, which took
first place in the meet. Butts was
awarded CAA Male Diver of the Week for the seventh time this season after his
first place finish in the 1-meter dive (322.85) and second place finish in the
3-meter dive (321).
Last year Mason traveled to George Washington and was able
to come away with victories for both the men (132-127) and the women (132-126). Mason will look to duplicate that effort on
Saturday while preparing for their next
meet, the CAA Championships, at the end of February. All the action will begin at 1pm at the
Aquatic Center in the Jim McKay Natatorium.
