FAIRFAX, Va. - Mason wrestled three tough matches in the Patriot Duals on Saturday, January 14^th, coming away with one win a two losses on the day.  Mason started off the day with a dominating victory against Davidson College by a score of 34-9.  They followed the victory with tough losses to VMI (21-17) and Cleveland State (25-12). 

Senior Mendbagana Tovuujav had the most impressive overall performance on the day with two pin victories and one major decision.  Tovuujav pin his opponent from Davidson in 3:58 and then won his matchup against VMI by a major decision.  Tovuujav concluded the day with a pin victory against Cleveland State in just 25 seconds.  Junior Jaaziah Bethea, another one of Mason's leaders on the day, won his matchups at 157 pounds against Davidson and VMI by major decision before concluding the day with a decision victory over Cleveland State.  Freshman 125-pounder Vincent Rodriguez returned to the mat for the first time since December 10^th and won two matches by decision and one by forfeit. 

Mason will return to the mat next Saturday, January 21^st when they host the CAA Duals in the Field House.
