George Mason will be one of more than 100 colleges and part of over 3,000
student-athletes heading to Philadelphia this
weekend for the 73rd Annual Aberdeen Dad Vail Regatta, America's
largest collegiate rowing event. The annual event will take place on the Schuylkill River
beginning at 7 a.m. Friday morning.
The finals of the 2011 Aberdeen Dad Vail will be broadcast live via ESPN3.com as well as throughout the Philadelphia region on ABC
Channel 6. In addition, fans will be able to watch qualifying heats and
semifinal heats live on www.dadvail.tv,
which will cover the exciting start of each race and the final 500 meters, as
opposed to the entire race as it will be shown during the finals on 6abc and
ESPN3.com.
The 6abc/ESPN3.com broadcast of the Aberdeen Dad Vail Regatta finals will
include two camera boats catching the action from the Schuylkill River.
Seven wired cameras, two wireless cameras in the stands and four 40-to 80-foot
booms equipped with cameras will capture the races from every angle possible.
