Towson, Md. - The George Mason softball team lost both its games Sunday against Towson in a CAA battle.  The Patriots suffered a 13-0 five-inning mercy rule defeat in the first game and lost the second by a score of 3-2.  These loses dropped their overall record to 12-22 and their conference record to 2-9.  Towson improved to 18-20 overall and 6-5 in the CAA.

The first game did not start off well for Mason as they gave up 13 runs in five innings.  Towson jumped off to a 5-0 lead in the second inning hitting two home runs in the inning.  They added eight more in the third inning off of six hits and two more homers.  The Patriots weren't able to score any runs and the mercy rule came into effect after the fifth.

The second game was a lot closer but Mason lost the game 3-2.

Towson scored two runs in the first inning.  A single and a home run were the first two plays of the game for the Tigers.  The home run was again by DiPompo which was her third of the day.

The Patriots scored one in the fourth and one in the top of the sixth to tie the game but gave up the go ahead run in the bottom of the sixth.  They were unable to score in the seventh and lost by a run.
