FAIRFAX, Va. - George Mason University is inviting fans to a NCAA Selection Show Watch Party that will be held in the Johnson Center Atrium on the Fairfax Campus on Sunday, March 13, beginning at 5:45 p.m. The Patriots are looking to make their fourth-straight postseason berth with an at-large spot in the 68-team NCAA Men's Basketball Championship field. A selection among the field of 68 would be Mason's third NCAA appearance in the last six years and the fifth under head coach Jim Larranaga. The Selection Show Watch Party is presented by Verizon Wireless and the Apple Federal Credit Union.

Larranaga, who was recognized as the CAA Coach of the Year, guided the Patriots to the CAA regular season title and a 16-2 record in conference play, the best record in school history and matching the CAA record. Mason is currently 26-6, and at one point during the season owned the nation's longest winning streak, a school record of 16 games. As of Wednesday, March 9, the Patriots are ranked 27th in the Ratings Percentage Index (RPI) and receiving votes in both the Associated Press and ESPN/USA Today Coaches Polls.

Along with Larranaga and the Patriots team, the Pep Band led by Doc Nix, Masonettes, cheerleaders and mascot "The Patriot" will be on hand to lead the festivities. Two large viewing screens will be set up to view the CBS Selection Show.

Mason Nation will give away Patriots shirts and promotional items. Fans will also have a chance to win prizes in a "text-to-win" contest.

A limited number of food court options will be open during the event. The George Mason Bookstore will be open from 5-7 p.m.

FREE parking is available in general Lots A, J and K.
