The George Mason
softball team hosts the Georgetown Hoyas on Wednesday in a non-conference
doubleheader. The first game is
scheduled to begin at 4:00 p.m. with the second game following shortly after the
conclusion of the first. The games will
be played at the George Mason Softball Complex.
The
Patriots are coming off a weekend series loss to the Delaware Blue Hens in
which they lost two out of three games. Their
one win was a 1-0 shutout and Miranda Cranford
started the game allowing no
runs on four hits in 5.2 innings pitched, picking up her third win of the
season. She struck out five batters and walked one. Maher recorded
the save pitching 1.1 innings and striking out a batter. Mason's
record sits at 10-13 on the year with a 1-2 record in conference play.
Georgetown
comes in with a 7-25 overall record including a 1-1 split against Connecticut
over the weekend.
After
this series with Georgetown the Patriots will travel to Harrisonburg to play
James Madison in a weekend conference series.
There will be a doubleheader on Saturday, April 2 and a single game on
Sunday. The first game is scheduled to
begin at 12:00 p.m. on both days.
