Fairfax, Va. - The George Mason softball team opens their home schedule when they host Mount Saint Mary's Wednesday for a double header. The first game is scheduled for 3 p.m. with the second game coming after the conclusion of the first.

The Patriots are coming off a 2-2 record in the USC Upstate Tournament with two wins against Hampton and two losses against USC Upstate. Mount Saint Mary's has yet to play a game this season.

In the USC Upstate tournament three Mason players were named to the USC Upstate Classic All-Tournament Team. Rachael Davies, Emily Lafferty and Katie Rynex all received the honor. Rynex had a huge tournament going 4-for-11 (.362) with three home runs, a double, six RBI's, and four runs scored. Lafferty batted .333 (2-for-6) with two runs scored and two walks while Davies finished the tournament 2-for-13 (.154) with an RBI and a run scored.

Following the doubleheader on Wednesday, Mason will host the Patriot Classic over the weekend. Rider and Cornell will take part in the tournament as well. The first game is set to begin at 4 p.m on Friday.
