In the final track and field meet before the ECAC and IC4A
Championships, a trio of Patriots qualified for those meets while two other
Patriots set significant personal bests as George Mason hosted the Last Chance
meet on Sunday.
Dominique Graham
cleared 1.70 meters in the high jump as the
women's team ran their total to 11 individual qualifiers for the ECAC
Championships which begin on Saturday. Also beginning on Saturday is the IC4A
Championships and Andrew McGreal's time of 2:28.99 in the 1000 meters and
David Rushing
's time of 1:54.65 in the 800 meters makes them the 38th
and 39th
individual qualifiers for the men's team. McGreal was second
in the event while Graham won the high jump and Rushing won the 800 meters.
Meanwhile, Lavell Handy had an impressive leap of 15.82
meters in the triple jump which puts him in the top 20 this season in that event.
He's also in the top 40 this year in the long jump and 60-meter hurdles. Also
on Sunday, Wes Sun cleared 5.00 meters in the pole vault, the best vault of any
Mason athlete this season. Sun won the pole vault while Handy was second in the
triple jump to Mason assistant coach
Samyr Laine
, who was an All-American at
Harvard and is the Haitian national champion.
On the men's side, other top finishers include Tyler Golden finishing second in the 800 meters,
Rachaunn Ruffin

who was third in the 60 meters, Jason Hartman
and
Kieran Hennessy
who were
second and third, respectively, in the 3000 meters,
Kirk Nguyen
who was third
in the weight throw, and
Lee Oxenford
and
Patrick Dietrick
who were second and
third in the pole vault.
Other top finishers on the women's side include Mandissa
Marshall who won the pole vault with
Kelsey Hinz
and
Colleen McGlade
finishing
second,
