FAIRFAX, Va. - Mason fell to American 27-15 in the
first home dual for Head Coach Joe Russell's team.
Freshman Zach Isenhour won the 133 pound match with a
technical fall by a score of 16-0.
Junior Ty Knepp won his match at 165 pounds by a score of 10-8 in
overtime after overcoming a shoulder injury early in the first period. Redshirt senior co-captain Frankie McLaughlin IV made it two straight weight class wins with his 16-8 major decision victory
at 174 pounds. Mendbagana Tovuujav won
his match 5-2 over number 11 ranked Daniel Mitchell for Mason's final victory
of the evening.
Mason will wrestle on Thursday, January 5th at
home in the Recreation and Athletic Complex against Appalachian State
University.
