FAIRFAX, Va. - Men's
swimming and diving finished off their weekend of CAA POD Meet competition on
Saturday. The men picked up losses
to Old Dominion and William and Mary by the score of 182.00-169.00 and
203.00-144.00 respectively. The
women were defeated on the weekend by James Madison, Northeastern, Old Dominion
and William and Mary.
The men were led on the weekend by senior swimmer Preston Wolter and senior diver Derrick Butts.
Wolter won the 1650-yard freestyle with a time of 15:56.24 and the 50-yard
freestyle in 4:37.08. Butts won
the 1-meter dive and the 3-meter dive for the fourth consecutive meet. Butts won the 1-meter with a score of
332.75 and the 3-meter with a score of 324.60.
For the women, senior swimmer Ashley Danner was victorious
in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:02.21 and the 200-yard breaststroke
in 2:15.99.
Mason will compete again at home in two weeks from Thursday
through Sunday in the Patriot Invitational for one of the biggest meets of
their season.
