RICHMOND, Va. - Senior diver Derrick Butts has been awarded CAA Male diver of the week honors for his efforts in the Patriot Invitational last Thursday, November 17^th  - Saturday, November 19^th.  This is Butts' fifth consecutive meet where he has won both the 1-meter and 3-meter dives.  He has also been named the conference diver of the week after each of the last five meets.

Butts won the 1-meter dive with a score of 358.60.  Butts also set a meet record in the preliminary round with a score of 362.15 on day one of the Patriot Invitational.  He followed that performance with a day two win in the 3-meter dive with a score of 372.20, another meet record.

Butts' efforts were invaluable to Mason's second place finish in the three day meet.  The next event on Mason's schedule is the US National Championships, hosted by Georgia Tech University, beginning on Thursday, December 1^st and concluding on Saturday, December 3^rd.
