Men Finish Second as Women Place Seventh at CAA Championships

The Patriot men finished their CAA Championship race in second place this afternoon, while the women ended the day in seventh.

The men finished behind William & Mary, who took home their 12th consecutive CAA Championship. Despite the second place finish, Mason, who came into the weekend ranked 12th in the region, had three runners finish the race with All-CAA honors.  Junior Alex Zyryanov, who finished seventh overall with a time of 25:29, sophomore Michael Conway, who finished ninth with a time of 25:30 and junior Philip Blankenship who finished 12th with a time of 25:39 were all rewarded with All-CAA status.

The women were led today by freshman Peyton Lowe who finished 22nd overall with a time of 23:27.  Junior Rochelle Sceats, who had led the team for much of the beginning of the year, was out this afternoon due to injury.

Mason will compete again on November 4th in the Cavalier Open in at Panorama Farms in Charlottesville, Va.
