Men's and women's swimming and diving competed against
University of Toronto and University of Richmond Friday night at home. The women took home losses to Toronto
and Richmond by a score of 167.5-111.5 and 191.00-102.00 respectively. The men also finished with a loss,
falling to Toronto by a score of 183-109.
Star senior Ashley Danner, who raced in all three women's
victories on the night, led the women.
Danner won the 100-yard breastroke with a time of 1:02.58 and the
200-yard breaststroke in a time of 2:16.91. Danner was also the second leg in Mason's winning 200-yard
medley relay team that won with a time of 1:46.23.
Senior diver Derrick Butts took home victories in the
1-meter and 3-meter dives with scores of 374.40 and 292.72 in his efforts to lead
the men. Mason was also able to
win the final race of the night by taking home a victory in the 400-yard
freestyle relay. The relay team
consisted of senior Preston Wolter, junior David Kiss, sophomore Joey Kelly and
junior Adam Carter and was able to finish in 3:10.07.
Mason will be in the pool again next Friday night at 6pm and
Saturday at 10am for their CAA POD Meet.
Once again, this meet will take place at home.
