Washington, D.C. - The George Mason wrestling team squared off tonight against American University and came away with a 43-3 loss. The Eagles are currently ranked #10 in the nation as a team and won nine out of the ten individual matchups while raking up two major decisions, two falls and a technical fall. Mason was forced to forfeit in the 125 and 197 pound weight class.
The Mason wrestlers were paired up against six different American wrestlers who were ranked in their individual weight classes. John Delgado picked up the only win for Mason. The senior defeated Glenn Donatelli in a 9-6 decision.
Mason looks to post their first win of the season when they host Binghamton next Friday, February 4. That match is set to being at 6 p.m. and will take place at the RAC.
