A pair of George Mason baseball players earned preseason All-CAA honors on Tuesday as Shane Davis and Brig Tison were named to the 2011 preseason All-Conference team. Tison was named second-team All-CAA last year while Davis was third-team. The team was selected by a vote of the league's head coaches.

Tison, a junior is coming off a season where he hit .367 with three homers, 33 RBI and 15 stolen bases. He was named All-CAA last year as a utility player and that's the same position to which he was voted to on the preseason team.

Davis, a senior, was named to the team as a designated hitter. He was all-CAA as both a sophomore and a junior at that position. Last year, Davis hit .283 with nine homers and 45 RBI.

Georgia State's Mark Micowski was named the preseason Player of the Year. The outfielder hit .392 with five homers, 40 RBI and 17 stolen bases last year. He was one of three Georgia State players selected to the team. James Madison also had three players selected while VCU joined Mason with multiple selections. Delaware, Old Dominion and William & Mary each had single selections.

James Madison was picked to win the conference in a vote of the league's coaches with four first-place votes and 90 points. Georgia State was picked second with four first-place votes and 88 points. VCU was third, with two first-place votes and 84 points while UNC Wilmington was fourth with 83 points and one first-place vote. William & Mary was fifth with 54 points followed by Mason with 51 points. Old Dominion, Delaware, Towson, Hofstra and Northeastern round out the preseason predicted order of finish.
