The Mason Women's tennis team wrapped up the 4th Annual Mason 3-2 Invitational by splitting their two matches on Saturday. Mason defeated Mt. St. Mary's, 5-0 and then lost to George Washington 1-4. Mason improved to 6-3 on the season after recording a 2-2 record in the tournament.
Brooke Blackwell saw limited action because of illness but still managed to improve her singles winning streak to 23 consecutive matches. Kiersten Pappas earned the Patriots lone point in the contest against the Colonials winning the top singles match. She also earned a point in the Mount St. Mary's contest teamed with Lindsay Gray in the top doubles match.
"Overall this was a good tournament for us," stated Coach Curtis. "It provided good competition and allowed me to try several doubles team combinations to prepare for the Bucknell Tournament next weekend."
The Mason netters will travel to the Bucknell Invitational on October 1-3.
