Sinclair Named CAA Women's Runner of the Week

Richmond, Va. - Sophomore Laura Sinclair was recognized today by the Colonial Athletic Association as its women's cross country runner of the week. Sinclair earned this honor for her performance at the Delaware Invitational last Saturday morning. It is the first time in her career receiving this honor.

She finished first in the race in a course record time of 17:40.83, helping lead the George Mason team to a second place overall finish. That time beat the previous record of 17:51.53 set by Millersville's Priscilla Jennings last season. She finished the race nearly 40 seconds ahead of the next fastest runner and was one of only two runners to average sub-six-minute miles.

George Mason's men's and women's cross country teams will race again on October 2nd when they host the Mason Invitational at Oatlands Plantation in Leesburg, Va. The meet is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 2.
