MANHEIM, Pa. - Brandon Bucher, a rising senior on the George Mason wrestling team, was named to the 2009-10 NWCA Division I All-Academic Team for his excellent work in the classroom. Bucher has compiled a 3.32 cumulative GPA while majoring in physical education.

To qualify for the All-Academic team, a wrestler must have at least a 3.2 cumulative GPA, and either been an NCAA qualifier or won 60 percent of his total schedule - and must have competed in at least 60 percent of said schedule. The other way to qualify for the All-Academic team is to have a 3.0 GPA and NCAA All-America status.

Wrestling at 149 pounds, Bucher qualified for the NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships for the first time in his career last season. The Dillsburg, Pa. native finished in third place at 149 pounds at the CAA Championships and was ranked 33rd in the final poll of the season by WrestlingReport.com.
